When I saw The Ordinary AHA + BHA Skin Peel on Instagram I was intrigued by the look of it and knew I had to try it out. It honestly looks like a vampire facial, which is why I have always wanted to try, but never did due to the price tag and the fact you need to give up your blood for it. However, The Ordinary AHA + BHA Skin Peel is under $10 and packs a concentrated punch. Have you ever felt like your skin needed a reset or some help with overall tone improvement? If you answered yes to these, then this treatment may be best for you.
This product is a chemical face peel and you have to be mindful of using it, however when used correctly it can help to renew your skin to reveal a bright even complexion. It offers a chemical exfoliation, which means that it has acids that remove dead skin cells.
What else do AHA’s & BHA’s target? So AHA’s (aka Alpha-Hydroxy Acids) target texture, pigmentation, pores, and dull complexion. The amount of AHA in this formula in this peel is 30%. On the other side BHA’s (Beta-Hydroxy Acids) dive deep into pores to dissolve excess sebum that can cause those pesky breakouts after mixing with dirt, bacteria, and dead skin cells. I personally struggle from post breakout hyper-pigmentation so I always look for something to help. I know that hyper-pigmentation can make you feel super self-conscious, but I also know that with a little bit of patience and the right products you can ease the stress that it causes. I personally have seen an improvement in overall skin tone and texture from using this. While is doesn’t erase any hyper-pigmentation right away, it does help to remove the top layer of skin and help with skin renewal. That is why overall tone is improved. I also have seen help calm my skin when it’s prone to breakouts hence the BHA breaking down excess sebum.
