I’m here to give you 7 tips for holiday style 2019 that will make it easy to look great at any holiday event. It’s the most fun time of the year to dress up since holiday style requires attire that is a little more luxurious. While yes it can be exciting to get dressed up, it can also be nerve wrecking to pull together your look. The good news is that the 7 tips below will help you understand holiday style so you can dress yourself like a pro!
Tips:
- Opt for luxe fabrics! You don’t need sequins to embody holiday style. You can opt for metallic lame, tweed, feathers, patterned sheer, velvet, or just prints. All of these fabrications make holiday style a little more fun & less predictable.
- You must accessorize for success! You do not need to go out and buy an entire new outfit if you’re in a crunch, just update a great outfit with new accessories. When shopping for holiday accessories opt for something that has a bolder element: sparkle, tassel, pearls, fur/faux fur, texture etc. You can find these elements in jewelry, hair accessories, shawls and clutches so adding these to a little black dress or fabulous jumpsuit is an immediate way to be holiday glam ready.
- Go for bolder lips! Reds, berry, and pink hues are a great way to step up your lip color game for the holidays. I also love this trick because you don’t have to be a makeup pro to pull it off. You can add this in to your everyday makeup routine to go from office to party.
- Elevate your sequin game. I know I just said that sequins aren’t necessary, but they are classic holiday style (also a the holiday party is the perfect excuse to wear them). If you don’t want to look over-done just balance sequins. One of my favorite ways to do so is pairing a sequin skirt back to a sweater or graphic top.
- Tights can save your look! If your dress or skirt needs a polished touch just add in some tights. This is an easy way to transform a look that could come off as cheap to grown & sexy. I love styling a mini dress that I would normally wear with bare legs with tights… it’s an instant chic transformation!
- Make sure your shoe game is on point! You can make sure that you have fun with the shoes as well. Just like accessories this is a time where you can go for a more opulent shoe that’s bold in color, embellishment, or event texture. The good news is that you can find these elements in nearly any shoe style and heel height!
- Finally the last tip is to HAVE FUN! Holiday style is honestly the perfect excuse to step into a more glam alter ego, dress up, and create memories!
