Jaclyn Cosmetics ends 2019 bouncing back with a highlighter.
Without a doubt 2019 wasn’t the best for Jaclyn Hill, but she finished with a comeback. I’ll be honest… I was disappointed when the lipsticks bombed, because I was excited that Jaclyn finally launched something of her own. Moreover, I’m always excited to get my hands on new products to review and help women like me understand before purchasing.
Lucky for us we were able to end 2019 with the launch of the Jaclyn Cosmetics Holiday Collection, with none other than highlighters. Honestly this should have been the first launch because I really feel like Jaclyn is known for highlighters… remember Champagne Pop?!
When I saw this launch my hope was slightly renewed, but I still waited and then found out the highlighters would be available in the Morphe store. Once I swatched the highlighters in the Morphe store it was a solid love at first swatch. I grabbed what I knew I would use and would be great for other melanin babes to share.
Jaclyn Hill Holiday Collection Review: Table of Contents

- The highlights of the collection

What I Bought
- The Accent Light Highlighter Palette – this is a baked highlighter palette with 4 highlighters in it. It is made in Italy, where they are known for manufacturing great baked highlighters. There are 2 shade stories for this palette to cover light to deep skin tones. I grabbed The Flare shade which is for deep skin tones. This formula is great because you can build up the intensity.
- The Beaming Light Loose Highlighter – this is available in 5 shades. I grabbed the shade Amped. This product is made in the United States. These are finely milled and glide on flawlessly. This formula packs a major glow.
What I Passed On
- The Mood Light – This interests me because it’s great for those who don’t want an intense highlight and just a natural glow. However, I passed on purchasing this since buying 2 products was already pricey enough for me.
- The brushes – Now there is a brush for each formula, but I have enough brushes for highlighters that I know work with a variety of formulas. Enough said… It was an easy pass.
The Good
- The formulas are good… like really, really good.
- Pay off is true to how it appears and holds up over time.
- Skin tone friendly across all formulas. YAY!
- The packaging is beautiful and gives a luxurious vibe.
- Cruelty-free
The Bad
- The price is on par with other high end brands.
- The Flare Palette $49 for 3 g each.
- The Beaming Lights Loose Highlight $24 for .14 oz.
- The brushes weren’t completely necessary especially when she has promoted so many and even had a collab with Morphe for brushes.
The Undetermined
- I’m not sure if this is permanent, but I hope that it is.
- Where will Jaclyn Cosmetics go from here. This is the quality product that should have been launched initially, but we have no hints at what is to come.
If you haven’t tried this and on the hunt for a solid highlighter then this one is worth a shot. It’s a great highlighter with great quality that I feel was worth the addition to my makeup collection.
