Do you love the iconic look, but not too sure how to style a houndstooth skirt? No worries girl I got you! I’m going to show you how to style a houndstooth skirt that is a perfect fall look. I wore this look while apple picking right outside of Boston and then to a quick dinner back in the city. So it’s a versatile look for the new normal. Don’t stress it’s an easy outfit formula of 4 elements.
Start with the skirt
The first part of the outfit is the houndstooth skirt of course. You can find many silhouettes in this print to suit you. The one I’m wearing is the Jupiter Houndstooth Ruffle Miniskirt by A.L.C. that I purchased earlier this year. While this exact one is a little hard to track down (a few sizes here) you can always find a good houndstooth skirt nearly any year. Just know what length you’re looking for in this print. The length you are seeing on me is mini. It’s sassy, but still very chic look!
Add in the top
Now that you have the skirt, it’s time for the top. While we’re transitioning into cooler temps, a sweater will pair back to your houndstooth skirt perfectly! Just find the right weight in fabric for your climate. You can stick to a neutral (black, white, cream, grey) or make the skirt a little more bold with a pop of color. For classic chic, stick to your neutrals so you don’t have to overthink styling it.
Layer in accessories
Do you always wonder how to take your outfit to the next level? Accessories period! For this look the accessories are simple. Throw on a beret hat. Pull on a tights. Pop on an elevated cross-body bag. Accessorizing is now complete!
Complete with the perfect pair of shoes
Since boots and booties season is action these styles pair back to the outfit without a doubt. The Chelsea boots you see above are a perfect style to wear. They are causally polished and very functional.
